Bleeding

This is the 4th time of bleeding since I have been pregnant.  The first 2 times I didn't know I was and the 3rd was after a pelvic exam.  Yesterday I worked a 16 hour shift and just getting into my 2nd shift I went to the bathroom and started bleeding.  Maybe a couple tablespoons.  No cramping or anything, no clots or other sediment.  I called th consulting nurse who spoke with the On call OB and they said it's either infection d/t the Mirena still being in me or miscarriage.
This morning I am still bleeding, but still no clots or cramping.  I am going to call again today and have an appt tomorrow morning already.
If you all could say a prayer for us......My first 2 kids were good pregnancies but no iud either.  Kinda getting nervous. Not like I can do anything about fate, but ya know....
Thanks ladies!

I delivered 6 weeks early a 5lb 15oz lil boy:)  After spending 2 months on bed rest in the hospital and Mason spending 11 days in the NICU, we're both home and doing great!  Mason is getting bigger and gaining weight like he should.  Now it's my turn to lose this weight!  It's tough to get back on the band wagon...I CAN do this!

Could it be a clot on/around the placenta that bleeds out  when u strain yourself too much? They should be able to tell pretty easily with an ultrasound...either way stay strong and GL...

Sending up prayers for you & baby ; )  I had 3 episodes of bright red bleeding early in this pregnancy. I thought it was just a subchorionic hemorrhage, but they couldn't see one on ultrasound. They said that it must've been coming from an area within my cervix, but there was nothing we could do about it. It was very scary. I'll be sending positive thoughts your way ; )

Thank you ladies~since the IUD is still in me, I know I have an increased risk for spontaneous miscarriage.  I try not to think about it tho

This is probably a dumb question but....how come they don't take out the IUD? Yeah bleeding is terrifying especially with higher risk pregnancies..mine finally stopped this past week after almost two non-stop weeks of bright red bleeding! Anyway I will also keep you in my prayers!

When I initially went in the OB told me if she saw strings she'd pull the IUD, but if she had to dig around to find it that could cause more problems.
An update now though, shortly after I posted my original post I passed a clot:(  I am going to OB at 115 today to have them check me out.  Will post later
Thanks for the prayers

I also got pregnant with my Mirena in place, but the OB had me come in at 6 wks for an emergency  removal of the IUD since they can cause all kinds of complications if they remain in.
Severe bleeding, miscarriage, infection and perforated uterus were just some of the complications my OB said could happen.

Goodluck! Keeping you and your baby in my thoughts!

Keeping you in my prayers! I bled on and off for awhile with this baby. It turned out to be implantation bleeding and then a subchorionic hemmorhage. 29 weeks today and he's doing great! Good luck!

I am thinking of you. Try and rest in bed as much as possible, and take extra iron. (((hugs)))
